“War is raging. The country I was elected to serve is now divided between the North and the South. In one year alone, I feel as though I have aged ten. My Generals are incompetent or unwilling to to do what is necessary to win this war. There is some light coming out of all this, both metaphorical and literal. At the Battle of Shiloh, we gained a victory against Confederate forces. So many men were lost on both sides that I am beginning to question whether all of this is worth the tragedy. Some of the injured men were startled to find that their wounds were glowing. Blood loss and pain are not the best remedies for a clear mind, but the glow was confirmed by several people including field doctors. More so, those that received these glowing auras were able to heal much quicker than others. They are calling it the “Angel’s Glow”. I sincerely hope that this means we have divine providence on our side. Even if it is the providence of fireflies, I am content to know that something is with me in this war. My men and I are going to need all the help and intervention we can receive.
