“I regret to write that James A. Garfield has been assassinated. Maybe there is some truth to this twenty-year curse. Is a nefarious group using this supposed curse to cover their tracks in superstition? Or is there a mysterious Native American curse plaguing the Presidents. I cannot see a pattern. Several American Presidents have gone to war with the natives, but they do not all die mysteriously. If the treasury is behind it, then why not kill Andrew Jackson or Rutherford B. Hayes who both hampered national banking. Even if powerful plantation owners were behind it, that would not explain Harrison. Zachary Tyler does not even fit into the twenty-year window. Maybe this is all a coincidence. I guess we will have to wait and see in the year 1900.
“For a century now, the Freemasons have suspected the Illuminati of controlling the banks. If true, this group has more power than we ever imagined. I have dwelled upon this matter for a long time now since Lincoln’s assassination. During the war, there was an abundant funding source for the Confederacy. Much of their funding came from Europe in hopes of breaking up our country for their own benefit. Lincoln suggested printing our own money for the North called Greenbacks. The idea would have prevented the country from accruing debts with the reserve or any unfavorable bank after the war. This would also help the reconstruction efforts in the South. However, with the Illuminati controlling the banks, this effort could have left them with no profit. When following the money back to Europe as we tried to pay the South’s debts, the trail ends abruptly. Funds from France and England do not add up and the European banks will not divulge who the backers were. “For a century now, the Freemasons have suspected the Illuminati of controlling the banks. According to the historian at my Mason Lodge, the Knights Templar were prominently bankers in Europe by protecting the money of travelers on pilgrimage to Jerusalem. The Illuminati claim heritage to the Templars like the Freemasons. Freemasons championed knowledge and inherited most of the treasures discovered at Solomon’s Temple and the Library of Alexandria. What if the Illuminati took a different path and tried to use their banking knowledge to their advantage? There are many documents describing the ways the Templars controlled the population with their banking methods. What if the Illuminati are doing the same? What if they already have control and we are now their puppets? What if Lincoln discovered or foiled their plots and was then assassinated for it?
“Immediately after the war, there was a Confederate cache of gold, silver, and other valuables. Loyal Confederates collected the treasure with the intention of funding the war effort. The value was estimated to be as high as $3 million. Initially Union forces intercepted it; however, the bulk of the treasure has gone missing. Neither the Union soldiers left in its charge nor captive Confederates will speak to its whereabouts. The inventory was lackluster, and documents were poorly kept. Now either they are lying and keeping it stored somewhere secret, or it has been lost. Union soldiers loaded about two-thirds of the gold onto two freight cars on route to Michigan. Somehow the train made it to its destination with two train cars miraculously missing and no gold. The engineer claims to have no knowledge of any robbery. The investigators interrogated several individuals and discovered that an unknown group tampered with the train at one of the stops in Ohio. The assumed railroad workers moved two cars from the train and reattached the cars to the end of the train after the caboose. This was supposedly done without the engineer’s knowledge. Somewhere along the way, our suspects separated the train cars while in motion. Confederate officers discreetly used the remaining one-third of the gold to pay off the wages owed to Confederate soldiers. We will make no attempt to recover this money as it falls in line with the Reconstruction goals. However, we must further investigate to find out who stole the rest. I am not sure if I am more impressed by the finesse of this heist, or more frustrated with the soldiers that were incompetent or criminal.”Immediately after the war, there was a Confederate cache of gold, silver, and other valuables. I feel like humans loose so much gold, it’s a wonder that we have any left. Why is there so much lost gold? Is it that we are always seeking treasures, and there must be something worth finding if we just keep looking? I wouldn’t mind finding this gold either, I’m just saying. Maybe gold is just rare because we keep loosing it. Like the whole diamond conspiracy, where diamonds are actually common, but they are mostly kept in vaults to keep the prices high.
“Here is a letter from a popular writer for the Sacramento Union newspaper. He traveled to Hawaii for four months to give a first-hand account of the islands. It appears that he found more than he expected.
I was enjoying a beautiful walk when I discovered a pristine lake. I decided to go for a swim and walked past several stone markers that held no significance to me at the time. I slowly waded out into the pool while acclimating to the cool water. I relaxed taking in the serene magic of the view. I was startled as my feet found a hard leathery surface and I began to rise out of the water. In a panic I tripped and began rolling down the side of a newly formed hill. I hit the water and began thrashing for the beach as quickly as I could muster. Once firmly on land, I looked back to see a massive gecko staring back at me. It had pitch black skin with spots and swirls of deep red like molten lava glowing from heat. The body that showed above the water was over forty feet long. A massive wet tongue stuck out and licked its eyes which reflected the sky and water like polished mirrors. I stared in awe not knowing if I should run. To my relief, it lost interest and descended back into the depths of the pool. It displaced so much water as it lowered that several large waves splashed me. This was also a relief as I may have soiled myself. Later I told my encounter to a local who informed me that I had disturbed the peace of a Mo’o. Giant geckos or dragons who they consider to be either spirits or gods. She said I was extremely lucky as they are known to be violent when disturbed. These creatures even battled with Pele, the goddess of fire and volcanoes.
“The country is grieving the loss of a great man, and I suspect that justice may never be fully served. It was at the request of our Secretary of War, and although wrong, I feel that his actions will save us from further war. On the night that the policeman shot John Wilkes Booth, a sigh of relief swept through the nation. Justice was swift. However, it has been discovered that the man shot dead was, in fact, not the famous actor. His brother verified this, however the mortician explained to him that the human body looks different in death. Enough doubt was placed in him that he agreed to what he was told. The body belonged to one of John Wilkes Booth’s co-conspirators. The quick action after our leader’s assassination showed the South that we are strong. If it is discovered that Booth got away with the assassination, it might embolden them to revolt once more. There is so much resentment and uncertainty as we begin to build our country once again. The truth behind this matter will not benefit the country in any way. The bastard was seen in Richmond a few months back and again in Florida days before I write this. I suspect the man is smart enough to leave this country and never return. I hope he is not recognized again. May he find an ill fate wherever he flees.

I’ve always heard about conspiracy theories involving JFK’s assassination. But I never considered that their were conspiracy theories behind Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. It seemed like it was an obvious shut and closed case. John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln in the back as Lincoln watched a performance from the balcony. Booth then leapt down onto the stage shattering his leg. He stood up and shouted “Sic Semper Tyrannis!” before fleeing. He was a famous actor at the time so it would have been difficult for him to escape people’s notice. Supposedly this is also where “Break a leg!” comes from when wishing someone luck.
