“It is time for the Restoration to end and allow the South to have home rule and govern themselves as intended by the Constitution.  The North has oppressed them enough and further attempts to control them may inadvertently lead to a second civil war.  Although I admire Abraham Lincoln, I do not agree with using Greenbacks.  I understand that he was under a lot of pressure during the war, but we must do our best to remain independent.  I will institute a gold standard to guarantee we are not borrowing from the wrong people.
